Robert J. Lehman of Vestal
Robert J. Lehman, 92, of Vestal went to be with his beloved wife Charlotte on Friday, July 9, 2010 at his home. He was predeceased by a sister: Mary Rose Lukas. He is survived by his daughter; Cindy Christopher and Cris Harrigan, Syracuse, a granddaughter, Corey Christopher, FL. A brother Martin Lehman and son Thomas. Nephews; Mark Lukas, Roger (Ruthanne) Burd, Richard Burd and Brent Johnson, a niece Joan (Raymond) McKeeby. The family wishes to give a special thanks to his caregivers; Cheryl Fedich, Mike Palmieri, Tommy Gazdik and Jess Kozlowski, Robert earned his wings and traveled with his wife Charlotte from the East to the West Coast preparing for the war. During WWII he served as a Corporal in the Army Air Corp and was a Top Turret Gunner on the B24. After the war he was employed by IBM as a Cost Estimator and retired in 1972. Robert was a witty and comical gentleman who had great photojournalism abilities. He loved air shows and Space Aeronautics. The family wishes to give a heartfelt thank you to the Lourdes Hospice for their loving care of Dad in his final days.
At his request Funeral Services are Private and will be held at the convenience of the Family. Burial with full military honors will be in Vestal Park Cemetery Vestal. Arrangements are with the Coleman & Daniels Funeral Home, Vestal. "Imagination is the final frontier, speak without offending and listen without defending."
