Obituary of Gwen M Donlick

Gwen M. Donlick Of Apalachin Gwen M. Donlick, 65, of Apalachin, passed away peacefully to her eternal rest on Tuesday, September 2, 2008, at her home after a short illness of lung cancer. She was born July 11, 1943 in Schenectady, NY to Robert S. and Marie A. Gridley. She was predeceased by her loving husband, Charles E. Donlick, and a brother, Robert Gridley, Jr. She is survived by her three sons, Brian (Jackie) Donlick, Apalachin, Gary (Kim) Donlick, Alpharetta, GA, and John (Kathy) Donlick, Syracuse. She loved the cherished her six grandchildren, Zoe, Katelynn, Brittney, McKensie, Alex and Eric. She is survived also by her brother, Clyde Gridley, Malta, NY. She is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, including her brothers-in-law, Father Dan and wife, Delores Donlick, also Mickey; and a sister-in-law. Aunt Pat; and two dogs, Barry and Maddy. The family would like to thank her loving neighbors, Jean and Melody Jansen for their help and care of Gwen. Gwen loved to sew for friends, shopping, watching game shows and gambling at Tioga Downs. She loved to cook and she won the Best Spiedie in the Spiedie Fest of 1993. She worked for the Old Country Buffet for 16 years, serving a touch of love and care to every patron that came through the door. She also looked forward to traveling and seeing her son Gary and granddaughter Katelynn in Georgia. She will be deeply missed as she was deeply loved by all her family and friends. Family and friends are invited to attend a funeral service on Saturday at 2:00 p.m. from the Coleman and Daniels Funeral Home, Inc., St. Rt. 434, Apalachin. The family will receive friends from 12:00 Noon until service time at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to the Apalachin Fire Department Emergency Squad, PO Box 572 Pennsylvania Ave., Apalachin, NY 13732.
