Obituary of Evelyn L. Kerschner

Evelyn Proof Kerschner of Johnson City Evelyn Proof Kerschner, 81 of Johnson City, NY died Thursday, July 29, 2010. Evelyn was born in Wyalusing, PA. She was the daughter of George Wilson Proof and Dorothy Dodge Proof. She was predeceased by David, her husband of 40 years and her brothers Bill, Donald and Robert Proof. She is survived by two children, a son and daughter-in-law Bruce and Susan Kerschner, Concord, NC and a daughter and son-in-law, Connie and Guy Varcasia, Latham, NY. Four grandchildren, Christopher Varcasia, Watervliet, NY, Danielle Varcasia, Latham, NY, Kelly Kerschner, Concord, NC, Melanie Schnurbush, Owego, NY, a great grandchild Michael of Owego, NY and several nieces and nephews. She was active with the Vestal Senior Center and sincerely enjoyed all of her friends there. She was a resident of Hilltop Senior Center where she volunteered in helping new residents become acclimated to their surroundings and she was also a member of the Wesley United Methodist Church. Evelyn loved the outdoors and was an outstanding gardener. She had a great love for animals and was an avid bird watcher. She enjoyed travel and spending time with her family. Funeral Services for Evelyn will be held on Monday, August 2, 2010 at 11 am from the Coleman & Daniels Funeral Home, 300 E. Main St. Endicott, NY. Burial will be in Nanticoke Valley Cemetery, Union Center, NY The family will receive their friends on Monday morning from 10 am until the time of service at the Funeral Home.
