Obituary of Shirley M. Griffiths

Shirley M. Griffiths of Endicott Shirley M. Griffiths, beloved daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and aunt, 80, of Endicott, peacefully went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, August 10, 2010, at Wilson Memorial Hospital. She was predeceased by her parents, Ernest and Zelda Fitch; niece, Kathryn Wurth; her husband, Claude B. Griffiths; and a son-in-law, Thomas Martin. She is survived by her daughter, Arlene R. (Blackwell) Martin, Maine, NY; sons, Kenneth B. and Susan Griffiths, Endicott, and Robert A. and Lynn Griffiths, Sanford, FL; her grandchildren, Christopher and Stella Martin, Maine, NY, Jared Martin and fiancée Stephanie, Maine, NY, Lauren, Martin and Jon Tilton, Binghamton, Megan and Jesse Griffiths, Endicott, Jason, Daniel and Kayla Griffiths, Endicott, Hunter of Sanford, FL; great-grandchildren, Morgan, Mia, Keagan, Jacob and Makayla; a sister, Joyce Wurth, Endicott; a brother and sister-in-law, Carlton and Ann Fitch, Charlotte, NC; her best friends, Rosalie and Douglas MacDaid, FL; and many nieces and nephews. Shirley was a lifetime employee of Luizzi's Pharmacy in Endicott and among her many loves were playing cards, board games and the beach. Her greatest love was her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Graveside memorial services for Shirley will be held on Friday, August 13, 2010, at 2:00 p.m. at Riverhurst Cemetery, Main St., Endwell, NY with the Rev. David C. Seaver officiating. In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to the American Diabetes Association , PO Box 11454, Alexandria, VA 22312 or the American Heart Association , 59 Court St., Binghamton, NY 13901. Arrangements are with the Coleman & Daniels Funeral Home, Endicott.
