Obituary of Lois Dunn

Lois A. Dunn of Endwell Lois A Dunn 80, of Endwell went to be with the Lord Wednesday September 22, 2010 at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital. She was predeceased by her Parents Franklyn and Anna Dunn. Her Brother Franklyn Dunn Jr, and Sister Mary Joan Dunn. She is survived by her Cousins Joyce (Earle) Schaffer, Robertsdale, Alabama, James Salisbury, LaGrange, Georgia, Maryann (Michael) Letizia, Elmira, Barbara J Salisbury, Binghamton, Rev James (Judy) Dunn, Oley, PA, Deborah J Dunn, Endwell, Rebecca (James) Penwell, Binghamton. Lois was born May 4, 1930 in Elmira, NY. She received her Bachelors Degree from the University of Rochester. She was a associate technical editor with IBM, Owego. She received her Masters degree from Syracuse University. She was a retired teacher with the Vestal Central School District. She was a member of the NYS Teachers Assn and the International Platform Assn. A member of St Ambrose Church where she volunteered in the Pastorial Ministry program. She also volunteered at St Anthony School in Endicott. Lois had many friends and was always sending a note or making a phone call to let them know she was thinking of them.One of Lois's greatest joys was her weekly visits with Nathaniel O'Neil, where they shared insights on all kinds of topics. Lois also enjoyed the companionship of her U-E class of 1948 Lunch bunch, recalling fond memories of school and of Endicott. Lois was proud of her Irish and Scottish heritage, and had the opportunity to visit the Homeland as well as many other countries. A Funeral Mass will be offered Saturday at 10AM from St Ambrose Church 203 Washington Ave, Endicott. Burial will be in Riverhurst Cemetery, Endwell. There will be no Calling Hours. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in her memory to Lourdes Hospice 4102 Old Vestal Rd, Vestal, NY 13850. Arrangements are by the Coleman and Daniels Funeral Home, 300 East Main St, Endicott. "Pax Domini sit Semper vo biscum" (Rest in Peace)
