Obituary of Herbert W. Walter

Herbert W. (Herbie) Walter Herbert (Herbie) W. Walter of Vestal Herbert (Herbie) W. Walter, 85, of Vestal, died Wednesday morning, November 5, 2008, at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital. He was predeceased by his first wife, Anna (Soltis) Walter; his parents, Earl and Arla Walter; and many brothers and sisters. He is survived by his wife, Gail; daughter and son-in-law, Kathleen and Leon Benjamin, Apalachin, grandsons, Mark and his wife Jen, Eric and Courtney, and Sean; brother and sister-in-law, Frank and Cora Walter; sister and brother-in-law, Shirley and Mahlon Pease; brother, Martin Walter; Dan and Monica Winarski, Marge Bock, Joe and Joanna Conti; several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was a former employee of Endicott-Johnson and the Village of Endicott. He was a combat veteran of WWII and served with the U.S. Army in Europe. The Funeral Service will be held at 12:00 noon Saturday, November 8, 2008, at the Coleman & Daniels Funeral Home, 300 E. Main St., Endicott. Deacon Thomas M. Harley of Our Lady of Good Counsel Church will officiate. Burial will be in Slovak Catholic Cemetery, Binghamton, at the convenience of the family.
