Obituary of Leo Richard Boland

Richard Boland Richard Boland, 78, of Endwell passed away Friday morning, November 19, 2010 at his home. He was predeceased by his parents, Leo and Mary Boland; brother, Donald Boland; and a son, Rick Boland. He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth (Betty) Boland, Endwell; two daughters and sons-in-law, Kathi and Nino Muggeo, Endwell, Ann and Roger Gamble,WestMinster Colorado; two grandchildren, Ashley Cahill, and Dante and Emily Muggeo. Dick was a longtime friend of Johnny Hart Cartoonist and was on his writing staff for many years. He had a syndicated column in the Washington Times, and he wrote gags for many popular celebrities. He was a retired employee with IBM Corp with 32 years of service, and a member of its quarter century club. He was a veteran of the Korean conflict serving in the US Air Force. A memorial mass will be offered Tuesday, November 23, 2010 at 10AM from the Church of the Holy Family, Endwell. Entombment will follow in Riverhurst Cemetery, Endwell. The family will receive friends at the Coleman and Daniels Funeral Home, 300 East Main St., Endicott, Monday from 4-7PM. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his memory to Lourdes Hospice, 4102 Old Vestal Rd., Vestal, NY 13850.
