Obituary of Ludwig W Weber

Ludwig W. Weber Ludwig W. Weber, age 87, died peacefully in his sleep on Sunday, December 12, 2010. He was predeceased by his parents, Julius and Katharina. He was born in Germany in 1923 and came to this country with his parents in 1928. He is survived by his loving wife Janet and three children: daughter Shirley Weber and son-in-law Victor Elderkin, Binghamton; two sons, Mark and daughter-in-law Darcie Wernli, Seattle WA; and Kurt and daughter-in-law Kirstin; grandchildren Natalie and Matthew Weber, Dallas, TX. Lud served in the U.S. Army in WW II with the 28th Div. in Europe. He was awarded the Combat Infantry Badge, two major Battle Stars for action in the Ardennes Battle of the Bulge and Rhineland campaigns, also the Purple Heart. He was a Mechanical Engineer graduate of Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, Class of 1951. He was a lifetime member of the Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) and a lifetime member of the Disabled American Veterans (DAV). He was a retired employee of IBM with 33 years of service and a member of the IBM Quarter Century Club. As an avid skier he found great joy on the slopes with his 'skiing buddies'. Funeral services will be held Friday at 1PM from the Coleman and Daniels Funeral Home Inc, 300 East Main St, Endicott. The Rev Janice Devine will officiate. Burial will be in Vestal Hills Memorial Park. The Family will receive friends at the Funeral Home Friday from 12PM until service time at 1.
