Obituary of Philip Winthrop Ham

Philip Winthrop Ham of Apalachin Philip Winthrop Ham, 90, of Apalachin, passed away on Tuesday, November 18, 2008, at Wilson Memorial Hospital, Johnson City, N.Y. He was born on July 21, 1918 in San Francisco, Calif., and graduated from the Pittsburgh Art Institute. He was a veteran of the US Army and served as a radio operator in the Air Corps 47th Bomber Wing from 1942 - 1945 in Africa and Italy. He was employed by IBM for 36 years and was a scuba diving enthusiast and instructor, and was a member of the Power Squadron. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Janice; his sons, Martin (Melanie) Ham, Roger (Denise) Ham, and Scott (Susan) Ham; a daughter, Debra Terpolilli; a grandson, Michael Ham; a sister, Gloria Swanson. Memorial Services will be held on Saturday, November 22, 2008, at 11 a.m. at the Park Terrace Community Church, 30 Glann Rd., Apalachin. A time of visitation will be held Saturday from 10 a.m. until the time of service at the church. In lieu of flowers, friends are to remember a charity of one's choice. Arrangements are by the Coleman and Daniels Funeral Home, Inc., Route 434, Apalachin.
