Obituary of Bernard Popso

Bernard Popso of Little Meadows, Pa. Bernard (Bernie) Popso, 82, of Little Meadows, Pa., passed away on March 1, 2011 at our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Binghamton. He is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and Kurt Schroeder, Deltona, Fla., and Julann and Steve Rice of Vestal; one son and daughter-in-law, Chris and Alice Popso, Deltona, Fla.; one grandson, David Rice of Vestal; two granddaughters and grandsons-in-law, Stacie and Kenny Jenkins, Va., and Tiffany and Derek Sekunna, Fla. He was predeceased by his loving wife of 55 years, Victoria (Vicke) Popso; parents George and Tekla Popso; brothers and sisters-in-law, Edward and Helen Popso, Leo and Elizabeth Popso, and Thomas Popso. Bernie was a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, Little Meadows, Pa. He was a retired employee of IBM Endicott, with 32 years of service, and a member of its Quarter Century Club. Bernie belonged to the White Ash Land Assoc., Mildred, Pa., and the NRA. He loved fishing, hunting, and the outdoors. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 5, 2011, at 10 a.m. at the Coleman and Daniels Funeral Home, Inc., Route 434 Apalachin, NY, and at 11 a.m. at St. Brigid Parish, St. Francis Xavier Church, Friendsville, Pa., where a Funeral Mass will be offered. Burial will be in the spring in St. Thomas Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Coleman and Daniels Funeral Home, Apalachin, on Friday, March 4, from 3-6 p.m. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy in his memory may be made to the Little Meadows Rescue Squad, Little Meadows, Pa.
