Florence Elizabeth Sutphen
of Rochester and formerly of Apalachin
Florence Elizabeth Sutphen, affectionately known as "Betty", went home to be with the Lord surrounded by her loving family on March 5th, 2011. Predeceased by the love of her life, Edgar Hoagland Sutphen, and her siblings, Harold, Stanley, Madeline and Joanna Apgar. She is survived by her sister, Beatrice Lemore, her children Denton (Glena) Sutphen, and Debra (John) Macksamie, her grandchildren Brian (Marcie) Hrankowsky, Ardella Sutphen, Annette (Casey) Corbridge, Jeffrey and Kevin Macksamie, great grandchildren Hannah and Derek Hrankowsky along with several nieces and nephews. Betty was a long time member of the Eastern Star and the Union Presbyterian Church where she donated much of her time helping others. She could always put a smile on your face and made you feel loved. She was a woman of great faith and her favorite Bible passage was Psalm 23.The family would like to thank Highland Hospital,and the Rochester Presbyterian Home and Woodside Manor Home for the wonderful care Elizabeth received from all the staff. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the Union Presbyterian Church 200 East Main St. Endicott, NY 13760.
A Memorial Service will be held at the Union Presbyterian Church 200 East Main St,Endicott Saturday April 16, 2011 at 2:00 PM. Rev Patricia Raube, pastor, will officiate. The family will receive friends at the Church Saturday from 1PM until service time at 2:00 P.M. Arrangements are by the Coleman and Daniels Funeral Home,300 East Main St, Endicott.
