Obituary of Mary Kay Griffiths

Mary Kay Griffiths | Visit Guest Book Griffiths, Mary Kay Vestal: Mary Kay Griffiths, of Vestal, passed away on April 9th, at the age of 70, after a courageous battle with cancer. Mary Kay Farrell was born January 10, 1941 in Scranton, PA to William and Grace Farrell. A graduate of Marywood College, she began her career teaching in the Philadelphia public schools. She married her late husband Paul J. Griffiths, also of Scranton, in 1964, and lived in the Poughkeepsie area from then until 1985, when they settled in Vestal. Mary Kay is survived by her daughter, Megan Griffiths Gomez of Roslyn, NY and her son, Paul H. Griffiths of Belmont, MA and their spouses; her five grandchildren; and her brothers Dr. William Farrell, Dr. Robert Farrell, and Tim Farrell. Throughout her life, Mary Kay brought her warmth, sense of humor, and verve to everyone she interacted with. Her passing was abrupt and peaceful; she'd been planning a vacation for this week. Visitation hours with the family will be from 4pm-7pm on Tuesday, April 12th, at Coleman & Daniels at 300 E. Main Street in Endicott, NY. Services will follow at Christ the King at 499 Plaza Drive in Vestal, NY on Wednesday April 13th at 10:30am. Flowers are welcomed but donations may also be made to Marywood University in her honor.
