Obituary of Shirley Sickler

Shirley (Stiner) Sickler Shirley (Stiner) Sickler of Vestal, NY born April 7, 1930 passed away at home Sunday, April 17, 2011 with angels and family by her side. She is predeceased by her father and step-mother, Glen and Neva Stiner; her brother, Olin Stiner and her mother, Virginia Stiner-Lameraux. She is survived by her husband and life partner of 60 years, Robert K. Sickler; children- Robert L; Lee (Trudy); Lynn (Kim) McPartland; Scott (Pam); Dori (Dave) Kahabka; Diane Snyder; sixteen grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Shirley was born in Binghamton, NY; graduated from Binghamton North High and Wilson School of Nursing. She worked as an RN at Wilson Memorial Hospital for many years. After retirement she worked at the Boys and Girls Club Family Center in Endicott. Shirley enjoyed her family, traveling and nursing. She was an avid reader, enjoyed sewing, auctions, and involvement at the Boys and Girls Club. Other loving memories of Shirley include her compassion for others, a great listener and a shoulder to lean on. Her presence in the lives of those she touched will be greatly missed. A memorial service will be held for family and close friends April 30th, 11:00 a.m. , at the Apalachin Alliance Church on Tobey Road in Apalachin.
