Obituary of James Duffy

James J. Duffy Sr. James passed away peacefully at his home in Vestal, on May 3, 2011 at the age of 77. His parents, William and Junia Duffy and his wife, Gloria predeceased him. He is survived by his children, Yvonne and Mark Pooler, Jimmy and Pam Duffy, Debra Duffy, Sandy and Jim McCauley; grandchildren, Scott (Tiffany), Michelle, Vanessa (Ken), Brittany (Paul), Matthew, Holly (Nate), Val (Pete); great-grandchildren, Brody, Alataya, Ethan and his special one, Leah; stepchildren, Sue, Butch (Sally), Sheila (Jack); sisters, Shirley (Don) and Elaine (Bill); bothers, Richard (Pat), Jack (Linda), Donald (Margaret), William (Judy) and many nieces and nephews; his special neighbors, Chuck and Dori Newton, Lynn and Connie Dunham. James was also blessed with MANY friends and acquaintances, far too many to mention. Duff was a Vestal graduate, lettering in basketball and football. He served in the Navy on the USS Wasp. He worked at Roma's Bakery and worked as a bartender at the Legion Post 89 in Vestal. He retired from IBM and was a member of the Quarter Century Club. He liked watching sports, playing horseshoes and spending an afternoon at OTB. Duff brought much joy to everyone he knew. His sense of humor will be sadly missed by all. We love you Dad and will miss you very much. The family will receive friends at the Coleman and Daniels Funeral Home, 300 East Main St., Endicott, NY on Saturday from 2-4PM.
