Obituary of Edward P. Davis

EDWARD PAUL DAVIS (11-21-27 - 05-18-11) Ed went to be with the Lord peacefully on Wednesday May 18th, 2011 with the love of his dedicated family by his side. Ed was the eldest of 9 children. He is survived by his beautiful wife of 59 yrs. Doris Davis, his sisters Joanne Gulachok, Nancy Davis, Audrey Tilley, his brother Chuck Davis, his sons Mark Davis and wife Beth Davis, Ricky Davis Sr. and wife Michelle Davis, his grandchildren Ricky Davis Jr. and girlfriend Lisa Finch, Heather (Davis) and husband Evans Schultz, Sarah Davis and boyfriend Adam Donholt, Liza Ramey, Mindy (Davis) and husband Bobby Barnes, Clint Davis, his great grandchildren Josh, Stephan, Tallan, Kayla, Taylor, Alexis, Makenna, Miranda, Cameron, Ava, Jacob, Jalissa, Louis, Naomi, Noah as well as many family and friends. At 83 Ed was a man of many values, loved by many, and family always came first. Up till his last words Ed was that polite man everybody knew and still using his most famous catch phrase that all will remember forever "oh boy". Ed loved being outdoors, especially hunting and fishing with his sons, ball games with his grandchildren to BBQ's in the backyard. Ed was a proud member of the American Legion and always stood proudly while wearing the American flag. He served in the Korean War with an honorable discharge in 1961. He was a dedicated worker for the Columbia Gas Service and retired with 35 yrs. of service. Ed touched the heart and soul of everybody he met whether it was his long walks through the neighborhood or his short trips to the gas stations. He will truly be missed by ALL. Funeral Services for Edward will be held on Monday, May 23, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at the Coleman & Daniels Funeral Home, 300 E. Main St., Endicott. Calling hours will be held from 12:00 p.m. until service time at 2:00. The Rev. Mark Marino, Pastor of the Central United Methodist Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Allentown Cemetery in the Town of Maine. Donations in Edward's memory can be made to a charity of one's choice.
