Obituary of Glenda Bridges

Glenda E. Kenyon Bridges Vestal: Glenda, age 91, a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother (GGMA) died on June 3, 2011. She was predeceased by her husband, Walter J. Bridges on March 15, 2007, sisters-in-law Marian Bridges and Ruth Champney Monroe and in-laws, John and Jenny Bridges. Glenda is survived by her two daughters, Sheryl (Gary) Houser and Ardith (Joel) Griffing. She was "Gramma" to five special grandchildren, Susan (Joe) Zanovitch, D. Jason (Kizzy) Marshall, Stephen (Ann) Fisher, Quinn (Todd) Squires, and Joshua (Katie) Griffing. She was also GGMA to Damien, Micah, Caleb, Ethan, Tapaynga, Aaliyah, Joshua Jr. (JJ) and Lucas. Her life has also been blessed and brightened by so many special friends. Glenda was born on January 1, 1920 in Cortlandville, NY a daughter of the late Lacey and Coral (Ganoug) Kenyon. She was a graduate of Newark Valley High School, class of 1937 and Cortland State University of New York, class of 1942 and was a dedicated elementary school teacher at Apalachin Elementary for 25 years, retiring in 1977. She was also an active member of South Apalachin Baptist Church for more than 50 years. Glenda's family will have a Celebration of Her Life @ South Apalachin Baptist Church at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 7th with Pastor Michael Jayne officiating. Interment will be at the convenience of the family in Hope Cemetery.
