Obituary of Evelyn V. Beavan

Evelyn V. Beavan Endicott: Evelyn V. Beavan, 95, of Endicott NY went to her heavenly home on June 4, 2011. Evelyn was born on May 20, 1916 in Walton NY, the daughter of the late Luther and Laura Smith. Evelyn was predeceased by Harry L. Beavan in 1992, her husband of 59 years. Evelyn is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Duane and Doris Beavan of Endicott NY and her son, Dwight Beavan of Bethlehem PA; her grandchildren, Melinda and Harold Lake of DeRuyter NY, Tom and Ruth Beavan of Belfair WA, Phyllis and Dana Guest of Cortland NY; her great grandchildren, Edward, Ruthanne and Krista Lake, Diana and David Guest; her brother and sister-in-law, Fred and Lida Smith of Beverly Hills FL; nieces and nephew, Cheryl Betzer, Cindy Gleason, Dawn Robinson, Jeff Smith and Patty Sparling, and dear friend, Joe Harper of Beverly Hills FL. Evelyn was a member of the Christian and Missionary Alliance (C&MA) churches in Vestal NY and Apalachin NY and faithfully served as their organist for more than 60 years. She also loved playing the organ at the North Citrus Christian Church where she lived at her winter home in Beverly Hills FL for the past several years. She also enjoyed her cottage at the C&MA Delta Lake campground in Rome NY while attending family conferences, senior saint's weekend, cottager's weekend, and missionary conventions. She was always involved with the Alliance Women ministries and supported and prayed for the work of the C&MA missionaries. Another talent that Evelyn shared was making and decorating many beautiful cakes for weddings, anniversaries, birthdays and other celebrations which were enjoyed by the family and many friends throughout the years. She also helped Duane (The Baking Agent) to sell his baked goods at the Vestal Farmer's Market in Vestal NY and enjoyed this activity very much. The family thanks the Hospice of Citrus County FL and for Hospice of Lourdes NY for their wonderful care and support. We want to thank those who helped celebrate her 95th birthday while in Florida at the North Citrus Christian Church and especially for all those from the C&MA Apalachin church who came to her home and provided a special day for her. Evelyn was delighted by the piano music by Tabitha Briggs and Corynn Anderson, violin music by Bev Flint, and a special blessing for everyone to sing around the piano as Evelyn played the piano. The familv will receive friends at the Coleman & Daniels Funeral Home 300 E. Main Street, Endicott NY from 6:00 to 8:00 pm on Friday, June 10. The family will also receive friends one hour prior to the funeral service at 11:00 am on Saturday, June 11th at the C&MA Church at 293 Tobey Road, Apalachin NY. Funeral services provided by Pastor Thomas W. Briggs and Pastor William Wells; burial will be at the South Windsor Cemetery, Windsor NY. Expressions of sympathy can be made to the Great Commission Fund at the Christian & Missionary Alliance Church, 293 Tobey Road, Apalachin, NY 13732
