Obituary of Florence Powell

Florence Powell Florence Powell, of Vestal, passed away peacefully October 21, 2011. She is survived by her husband, Donald Powell, her sister Charlotte Davenport, her four daughters and their families: Cynthia Strada, her husband Blaine and her 2 children Rachel and Justin Moe; Christine Powell and her husband Nick Spyros; Elizabeth Tiberio, her husband Robert, and their 2 children Christine Meehl and John; Penny Powell, her husband Mark Bader and their daughter Elizabeth. She is predeceased by her brothers Palmer Bennett and Robert Bennett. Florence loved spending time with her family, her friends in Card Club and at many a good garage sale. She always grew the best green beans in her lovely garden and she loved picking berries. She was an active member of Our Savior Lutheran Church in Endwell, where, for many years, she played the organ for the 8am service. Her birthday was on Halloween and she loved having kids come in costume to celebrate "the Ole Witch's" birthday. The family wished to express special thanks to Ann Marie Vergason for the loving care she gave our mother. Funeral Services for Florence will be held on Tuesday, October 25, 2011 at 10 am from the Coleman & Daniels Funeral Home, 765 Main St. Vestal with the Rev. Norma Malfatti officiating. Interment services will be held following the funeral at 1 pm in the Oneonta Plains Cemetery, Oneonta. The family will receive their friends on Monday evening from 5 to 7 pm at the funeral home. Donations can be made in Florence's memory to the charity of your choice.
