Obituary of Edmund John Hanousek

Edmund J. Hanousek Apalachin: Edmund J. Hanousek, 79, of Apalachin passed away peacefully at home after a lengthy illness on Friday, November 4, 2011. He is predeceased by his beloved parents, Marye and William Hanousek. He is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Joan, of Apalachin; his children, Lisa and Steven Gilli, Michael and Linda Hanousek, Susan Devine, Charles Scudiero, Stacia and Douglas Spearbeck, Joshua Hanousek, and Brittany Hanousek; two sisters, Henrietta Folusiak and Constance Czeh; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren and also many foster children. Ed was a veteran of the Korean War, proudly serving in the U.S. Marine Corps. He was a long time employee of the New York Telephone Co., and a member of Blessed Trinity Parish at St. Margaret Mary's Church, Apalachin. In keeping with Ed's wishes there will be no calling hours. A memorial mass for Ed will be offered Friday, November 11, 2011 at 11 A.M. at St. Margaret Mary's Church, 1110 Pennsylvania Ave., Apalachin, NY. A limb has fallen from the family tree. I keep hearing a voice that says, "Grieve not for me. Remember the best times, the laughter, the song. The good life I lived while I was strong. Continue my heritage, I'm counting on you. Keep smiling and surely the sun will shine through. My mind is at ease, my soul is at rest. Remembering all, how I truly was blessed. Continue traditions, no matter how small. Go on with your life, don't worry about falls. I miss you all dearly, so keep up your chin, Until the day comes we're together again." (Author unknown) Arrangements are by the Coleman & Daniels Funeral Home, Apalachin, NY.
