Obituary of John Williams

John Williams Endicott: John Williams, 80, of Endicott died Thursday evening November 10, 2011 at Wilson Memorial Regional Medical Center. He was predeceased by his parents, P. Bert and Eva Williams, sisters, Eva, Dorothy, Carol, brothers, Bert and Harry, and brother-in-law, George Morton. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Marlene (Morton) Williams, daughter, Kelly of Meriden, CT, 3 sons, Douglas of Endicott, Bruce (Heidi) of Endwell, Carl (Suzi) of Colorado, grandchildren, Christopher of TX, Aaron and John of Endwell, Heather, Haylee, Heidi and Holly of Meriden, CT, also 2 great-grandchildren, sisters, Elinor Swingle of IL, Delia Wittemen and Joan Finney of Binghamton, brother, Sidney Williams of Binghamton, sisters-in-law, Connie Norton and Jane Cunningham, brothers-in-law, Larry (Terri) Morton and John (Barbara) Morton, 2 special cousins, Linda Witts and Kathy Ashby of Carbondale, PA, several nieces and nephews including special nephew, Will. He was a Veteran of the US Navy serving on the Aircraft Carrier USS Bennington. He was employed at Link Aviation, and retired from IBM Glendale with 40 years of service, also a member of the Quarter Century Club. He was a Boy Scout Master. He enjoyed working with his hands making furniture, wood carvings, model airplanes, trains and boats which he loved to float in Crocker Creek with his grandsons and his brother-in-law Larry Morton. John was quick with humor .His favorite position in IBM was in the blood group, where he helped to design and assemble the Blood Cell Separator. John was known by most of the employees at Wal-Mart and Sam's Club. Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.
