Donald Purtell Little Meadows: Donald Purtell of Little Meadows, PA died peacefully Sunday, November 13, 2011 at his home. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Norene; 7 children: Martin Purtell of Little Meadows, Ellen (Mark) Lewandowski of Wrightstown, PA, Janet (Michael) O'Connell of Madison, NJ, Arlene (Neil) Kern of Washington Crossing, PA, Leo (Sandra) Purtell of Little Meadows, Frank (Jeanne) Purtell of York, PA, Peter (Katrina) Purtell of Baltimore, MD; 13 grandchildren: Paul, Kevin and Connor Lewandowski, Isabelle and Chloe O'Connell, Brittney, Tyler, and Natalie Kern, Madison, Chase, Benjamin, Olivia and Nicholas Purtell; 2 sisters, Madeline Barno and Ruth Colwell, both of Apalachin; brother Robert Purtell of Little Meadows; several nieces and nephews. He was a lifelong member of St. Thomas the Apostle Church in Little Meadows. He was a charter member of the Little Meadows Volunteer Fire Dept. and a member of the Apalachin Lions Club. Donald owned Purtell Reality of Apalachin. Funeral Services will be held Wednesday at 10 AM from the Coleman and Daniels Funeral Home Inc., St. Rt. 434, Apalachin, and 11 AM at St. Francis Church in Friendsville, where a Funeral Mass will be offered. Burial will be in the Parish Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Funeral Home Tuesday from 4-7 PM. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his memory to the Warren Center Senior Center, 2 School House Rd., Warren Center, PA 18851.
