Obituary of Eileen McCaffery

Eileen Elizabeth McCaffery Eileen Elizabeth McCaffery, 70, of Apalachin, passed away Tuesday, November 22, 2011. She was predeceased by her parents, Joseph and Elizabeth Gass; and her brother-in-law, Thomas Fulfaro. She is survived by her husband of 50 years, James McCaffery; her son, James McCaffery; her son and daughter-in-law, John and Vicki McCaffery; two daughters and sons-in-law, Maureen and Ray Lohmeyer and Patti and Ronald Hansen; three grand-children, Christopher (Lori), Rachel and Ashley Lohmeyer; four sisters, Maureen Fulfaro, Kathleen (Joseph) Farella, Jacqueline (Myles) Williams and Mary (Joseph) Daly; her brother, Joseph (Barbara) Gass; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. She retired from a career as Assistant Director at a Broome Developmental Center Residence House and was the Treasurer of the Friends of the Apalachin Library. She loved animals and travel, and was an avid birdwatcher and accomplished amateur photographer. Funeral services for Eileen will be held on Saturday, November 26, 2011, at 1:00 p.m. from the Coleman & Daniels Funeral Home, St. Rt. 434, Apalachin. The family will receive their friends on Friday from 4 to 6 p.m. at the funeral home and on Saturday from 12 noon until the time of service at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made in her honor to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital ( www.stjude.org/donate) or Stray Haven Humane Society of Waverly, NY.
