Obituary of Richard O Barrett

Richard O. Barrett Johnson City and Vestal: Richard O. Barrett, 85, of Johnson City and Vestal, and formerly of Homosassa, FL, died Tuesday, December 27, 2011 at the James G. Johnston Nursing Home after a brief illness. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Catherine Barrett of Johnson City; two sons and daughters-in-law, Richard (Dick) and Ellen Barrett of Rochester, Bruce and Sandie Barrett of Vestal; seven grandchildren; and thirteen great grandchildren. He was a retired employee of Gannett Corp. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the US Army and Army Reserves. He was a 32nd Degree Mason. There will be no services. Burial will be at the convenience of the family in Springfield, MA. Expressions of sympathy may be made in his memory to the Lourdes Hospital Foundation, 169 Riverside Dr., Binghamton, NY 13905, or to the United Methodist Homes Hilltop Manor Campus, 286 Deyo Hill Rd., Johnson City, NY 13790.
