Obituary of Eleanor Krooswyk

Eleanor Krooswyk (1916 - 2012) Formerly of Endicott: Eleanor A Krooswyk, 96, went home to her Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ on February 8,2012. She was predeceased by her husband of 37 years, Rev Delbert "Budd" Krooswyk her parents, Peter and Pauline; two brothers, Peter and George; and sister, Irene. She is survived by a niece, Patricia Zawada of California, and her special friends, Rev. Roger and Mary Knapton of Clyde, NYand many other friends. Eleanor was born January 11,1916 to Peter and Pauline Klaub in Chicago, Illinois. Upon graduation from high school, she attended the Practical Bible Training School in Johnson City. Upon her completion of her studies,she served as a missionary with the Cherokee Indians in Stillwell, Oklahoma, and mountain folks in Rupert, Arkansas, and left to study at Moody Bible Institute in Chicago. On June7,1941 she married Rev Delbert "Budd" Krooswyk, and traveled in evangelistic services and then pastored in NY and Indiana. Eleanor was an accomplished accordionist, pianist and vocalist. Upon the sudden death of her husband in 1975, she became involved with Dr. Bill Shaded "Camp of the Nations" in Pennsylvania, serving as secretary to the prayer director and assisted in the music ministry. In 1978 she was employed at the Practical Bible College, now Davis College as a receptionist and cashier in the business office. Upon her retirement she served in oversees missions in England, Scotland, Venezuela, Germany and "testifying in coffee meetings." She served her church as a pianist, Womens Bible teacher and Womens missionary leader. A celebration of her life will be held Saturday at 12PM at the Cornerstone Community Church, 911 East Main St, Endicott. Rev William Turner and Rev Roger Knapton will officiate. Burial was in Calumet Park Cemetery, Merriville, Indiana. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to Davis College, 400 Riverside Drive, Johnson City, NY 13790.
