Obituary of Willetta Meier

Willetta Meier Irreplaceable Willetta: wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, was translated to heaven on March 14, 2012. She was born November 30, 1924 in Linn, Kansas. She was predeceased by her father, William Moorman and her mother, Caroline Moorman both of Linn, Kansas; by an infant sister, Lois Moorman; and by her brother, Holger Moorman. Willetta is survived by her loving husband of 64 years, Herbert Meier; her sisters, Leona Damman, Clifton, KS, Esther Meyer, Witcheta, KS, and Rachel Diggs, Glen Crossing, IL; her four children, Karen Mayer, Apalachin, NY, Susan (Ken) Wegner, Racine, WI, Janet (Darrell) Varley, Kirkwood, NY and James Meier, Ann Arbor, MI; many nieces and nephews; also survived by grandchildren Johnathan (Erin) Mayer, Hannah Mayer, Levi (Nicole) Mayer, Kristin Wegner, Karla (Ray) Fera, and Louis Wegner; plus 4 great granddaughters, Madyson Mayer, Elyzabeth Mayer, Carly Mayer, and Lilly Mayer. Willetta graduated as an RN from Lutheran School of Nursing in St. Louis, MO, was a charter member of Grace Lutheran Church, Vestal, NY and was a faithful choir member there for 50 years. She raised four children, was an avid quilt maker and loved to try out new recipes and to feed and entertain her friends and family. She loved to keep up on family history. Many thanks to United Methodist Homes Hilltop Campus staff for their love and tender care of our wife/mother. Family and friends are invited to attend a viewing Monday, March 19th at 10:00 a.m. from the Grace Lutheran Church in Vestal (corner of Main St. and Hazel Dr.), followed by a memorial service at 11:00 a.m. in the church sanctuary. Interment will follow at Vestal Hills Memorial Park. A luncheon will follow at the church. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy and/or those wishing to make memorial contributions may make donations to Grace Lutheran Church Organ Fund. Arrangements are with the Coleman & Daniels Funeral Home, Vestal.
