Obituary of Thomas P Wood

Thomas Wood Endwell: Thomas Wood, 79, born May 8th, 1932, died March 10th, 2012 at home after a courageous battle with cancer. His devoted wife and partner, Judy, was his constant caregiver and companion for the last 53 years. Tom was predeceased by his beloved daughter, Connie; his parents, Kathleen Grace and Arthur Wood; his brothers, Richard, Bill, and Charlie; and his nephew, Chip. Tom is survived by his daughters, Debbie (Gordon) Dusinberre, Kathy (Fred) Jensen; and his sons, Tom (Katrina) Wood and Jim (Carrie) Wood. He is survived by his treasured granddaughters, April Dusinberre, Rachel and Courtney Jensen, who could do no wrong in his eyes; also his grandchildren, Ben Dusinberre, Aaron (Sarah) Dusinberre, Jenelle Jenson, Brittany (Jason) Lane, Aubrey (Rusty) Bell, Morgan, Leah, and Isaac Wood; and several great-grandchildren. He will miss the antics of his beloved grandsons, Caleb and Jacob Wood; and he will be missed by the light of his life, his great-grandchildren, Tristan and Rowan Lane. Tom is also survived by his brother, Brian (Sandy) Wood; and his cousin, Dick (Violet) Ziegler. He is survived by his sisters-in-law, Jan (Frank) Meier and Karen Scanlon. He was an uncle to numerous nieces and nephews. Tom was a medic during the Korean War. When he returned home he married his beautiful wife, Judy Quinn, January 30, 1959. He was employed by the Town of Union for many years. Tom loved traveling with Judy after he retired and they visited many beautiful places across the US. The family would like to thank Dr. Briggs, Deb, the Lourdes Radiology Dept., especially Scott, Renny, Linda and Sandy, and the Oncology Dept. for their care and support of Tom. Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial service on Sunday, March 18, 2012, at 6 p.m. from the Coleman & Daniels Funeral Home, 300 E. Main St., Endicott. The family will receive friends at the Funeral Home Sunday from 5 p.m. until service time at 6. In lieu of flowers, please give someone a hug.
