Obituary of George Crawford

George L. Crawford Owego: George L. Crawford, 89, of Owego passed away Friday, March 30, 2012. He was predeceased by his wife, Eleanor; his parents, Burton Crawford and Lovisa (Crawford) Henry; three brothers and their wives; three sisters and their husbands; and two great grandsons, Cameron Nichols and Tyler Houghton. He is survived by four sons, Ronald (Beverly) Crawford, Dennis (Jeanine) Crawford, Eugene (Cindy) Crawford and Burton (Barbara) Crawford; three daughters, Bonnie Houghton, Tina Streeter (Greg Laing), Wanda (Stephen) Clearwater; 14 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by one sister, Cordella (James) Visingard; several in-laws, nieces and nephews. George proudly served his country in the Army Air Corps during World War II and was a member of VFW Post 6824, Rome, PA. He was a long time employee of Morse Chain Company & retired from Emerson. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time at his cabin in the woods. A Funeral Service will be held Monday, April 2, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at the Coleman & Daniels Funeral Home, 6519 Rt. 434, Apalachin, NY. Burial will be in the South Owego Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the service.
