Scott O. Sterling
Scott O. Sterling, 56, of Johnson City, went to be with his Lord on Tuesday, April 3, 2012. He was predeceased by his parents, Emerson and Jean Sterling and his brother, Donald.
Scott is survived by his wife of 32 years, Annie, his son Adam Sterling and daughter and son-in-law Sarah and Jon Purnell. He is also survived by two brothers and their wives, Randy and Joanne Sterling and Thomas and Lisa Sterling and his sister, Pamela Sterling.
He was uncle to Elizabeth and Jarrod Matthews, Joshua, Chelsea, Andrew and Rachel Sterling and great uncle to Adalyn Matthews. He also leaves behind numerous beloved Aunts and Cousins. Scott is also survived by his faithful canine companion, Ed.
Scott lived his life to serve others. He loved taking care of the people at his job at Broome Developmental Center. His service extended to his church, ushering since the 70's and working in AWANA. He also could be seen ringing the bell for the Salvation Army kettle drive. Scott's great love was watching his children perform in any endeavor. His passion was sports, both playing and watching. Scott graced numerous softball leagues with enthusiasm and finesse. For many years Scott has touched lives and brought smiles. He will be truly missed by the many who loved him.
Funeral services for Scott will be held Friday, April 6 at 10:00 A.M. at the Union Center Christian Church, 950 Boswell Hill Rd., Endicott with Pastor Sal Maiorana officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Endicott. The family will receive friends at the Coleman & Daniels Funeral Home, 300 East Main St., Endicott, from 5 - 8 P.M. on Thursday April 5, 2012. In lieu of flowers friends are asked to make donations to the Binghamton Rescue Mission, 1139 Upper Front St. Binghamton, NY 13905.
