Obituary of Laurence F. Briggs

Laurence F. Briggs Laurence F. (Larry) Briggs, age 75, passed away suddenly at home on Thurs., April 19, 2012. Born and raised in Lewiston, ME, he was predeceased by his parents, Lawrence & Helen Briggs; and his father-in-law Raymond Drake. He is survived by Nancy, his wife of 48 years; his son, Michael (Cheri Nutting) of Marlborough, NH; and his daughter, Marika (Chris Camadella) of Danby, NY. He is also survived by a sister, Arlene Briggs of Dover, NH; four special grandchildren, Emma, Teo, Anna and Eliza; mother-in-law, Dorothy Drake; and several nieces and nephews. Larry was a graduate of the University of Maine and a retiree of IBM in Owego, NY after 39 years of service. Affectionately known by many as "Sir Laurence," Larry will be greatly missed and fondly remembered. "It's 5 o'clock somewhere."
