Obituary of Alex Pacilio

Alex Pacilioof Johnson CityAlex Pacilio, 61, of Johnson City, entered into Heavenly rest on January 1, 2009, at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital. He was predeceased by his parents, Daniel and Theresa Pacilio. He is survived by his childhood sweetheart and wife of 39 years, Frances; also brothers, Anthony and James (Ferne); and sister, Johanna (Steven) Hoskins; and many cousins, nieces and nephews. He leaves his beloved cats, Maria, Luigi, Skipper, Lily, Candy, and Mickey. Alex graduated from East Rochester High School and St. John Fisher College, with a degree in Business Administration. He had a successful 32 year career with IBM and became Manager of Plans and Controls at the Endicott Programming Center. Most of all, he made lifelong friends there and was known for celebrating their special events with his poetry and entertainment. Following retirement from IBM, he joined Century 21 John Burns Realty as a licensed salesperson, where he happily continued doing what he loved best: interacting with and helping people and making many more friends. Along the way, he won the trust and respect of his clients and peers. Golf was the great joy of his life. He was a member of Vestal Hills Country Club for over twenty years, and two of his proudest achievements were his holes in one there. He was a kind, gentle, smiling, generous man who lived his life and faced his illness with quiet courage and dignity. He will be sadly missed by so many. Warmest thanks to Dr. Jonathan Kloss and Dr. Wieslaw Piller for their tireless and compassionate care of Alex, and to Pat, Kim, Karen, and all who gave him their tender kindness.A Funeral Mass will be offered Monday at 11 a.m. at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, Endicott. The family will receive friends at the Coleman & Daniels Funeral Home, 300 E. Main St., Endicott, Sunday from 5 to 8 p.m. Burial will be in White Haven Memorial Park, Pittsford, N.Y. Tuesday with a service to be held at 12:30 in the cemetery Chapel. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Animal Care Council, 131 Washington Avenue, Endicott, New York; or the American Cancer Society, 3 Beech St., Johnson City.
