Obituary of Douglas V Shea

Douglas V. Shea Choconut, PA: Douglas V. Shea, 74, of Choconut, PA, passed away on Wednesday, August 15, 2012. He is predeceased by his parents, Harold and Rose Shea; sister, Betty Van Vliet; and brother, Bob Shea. He is survived by his wife, Linda of 46 years; sons, James of Boston, MA, John and his wife Jean of Binghamton, NY; two grandsons, Stephen and Jack; and several cousins, nieces and nephews. Douglas was an employee of IBM with 36 years of service, a member of its Quarter Century Club and a Veteran of the U.S. Navy. Douglas was a member of the Silver Lake Volunteer Fire Company and Rescue Squad and its Fire Police. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and was a member of the Silver Lake Rod and Gun Club. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, August 18, 2012, at 10:00 a.m. at Coleman & Daniels Funeral Home, Inc., 765 Main Street, Vestal. Father John Kurgan of Our Lady of Sorrows Church, Vestal, will officiate. Burial will follow at Riverhust Cemetery, Endwell. Family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday from 5-7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his name to the Silver Lake Volunteer Fire Company and Rescue Squad, Brackney, PA 18812.
