Obituary of Barbara Ruane-Rando

Barbara Ruane Rando Vestal: Barbara Ruane Rando, of Vestal, passed away peacefully on August 21, 2012 at Lourdes Hospital with her family by her side. She was preceded in death by her father, Alton Stark; sister, Roberta Campbell; and her brother, Alton Stark. She is survived by her husband of 16 years, Richard Rando; her daughter, Kristen (Ruane) Donnelly and son-in-law, Thomas F. Donnelly Jr. of Binghamton; son, Thomas A. Ruane Jr. of Raleigh, NC; five grandchildren, Thomas, Maeve and Mara Donnelly and Trey and Brady Ruane. She is also survived by her mother, Lois Fassett of Tunkhannock, PA; her sister, Carol O'Donnell of Philadelphia, PA, Patricia Krupa also of Philadelphia, Lewis Stark of Choconut, PA and Dawn Stark of Tunkhannock, PA; as well as many nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her first husband, Thomas A. Ruane of Vestal. Barbara was a warm and loving soul who had a wonderful way with people and animals, especially children, who should be remembered for her love of nature, her garden and life itself. Calling hours will be on Saturday, August 25, 2012, at the Coleman & Daniels Funeral Home, 300 E. Main St., Endicott from 10 to 11 a.m. with a memorial service to follow at 11 a.m. The family wishes to acknowledge and thank the countless physicians, nurses, aides and clinicians of Lourdes Hospital for their excellent care of Barbara. A special thank you to Dr. Readling and Dr. B. Yousef for their expertise and compassion during this long journey.
