Obituary of Barbara Ann Matolka

Barbara Ann Matolka Vestal: Barbara Ann Matolka, 79, of Vestal, passed away peacefully at her home, on Thursday, August 30, 2012 with her family by her side following a lengthy illness. She was the daughter of the late Frances U. Miner and Alice P. (Miner) Gurney. Barbara was also predeceased by her brother, Gary Miner. She is survived by her loving husband of 59 years, Bert Matolka; her children, Debra (John) Hoecker, Oceanside CA, Michael (Myrna) Matolka, Newark Valley, NY, Richard (Karen) Matolka, Endwell, NY, Lisa Matolka, Vestal NY and Brian (Sandy)Matolka, Severn, MD; 11 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. Barbara was a devoted and loving wife, mother and grandmother. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, September 4, 2012 at 11:00 AM by The Rev. Edward Zandy at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 165 Clifton Blvd., Vestal. Burial will follow in Vestal Hills Memorial Park. Calling hours for friends and family will be at the church on Tuesday from 10:00 AM until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Barbara's memory to Lourdes Hospice, 4102 Old Vestal Road, Vestal NY 13850. Arrangements by Coleman & Daniels Funeral Home Inc., Endicott.
