Obituary of Lillian Lantz

Lillian S. Lantz Maine, NY: Lillian S. Lantz, 90, of Maine, NY, died after an extended stay at Ideal Senior Living Center on September 1, 2012. She is survived by her children, Patricia (Paul) Bock, Pittsfield, MA, Carl Lantz and Donald (Patricia) Lantz, Maine, NY. She also leaves 6 grandchildren, Veronica (Robert) Green, London, England, Edward and Samuel (Kim) Tomashek, Pittsfield, MA, Lisa (Rick) Boyce, Lisle Center, NY, Sherry Lantz Russell and Donald Lantz, Jr, Maine, NY; 12 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild. Lillian is also survived by her sister-in-law, Thelma Lantz Hegemann, Laguna Nigel, CA. She will be sorely missed by her closest friend, Jean Kaczynski. There were many nieces and nephews that visited her frequently and will miss "Aunt Topsy". Lillian was predeceased by Raymond Lantz, her husband of 61 years. Lillian was born and raised in Endicott, but after marriage she became a farm wife. In time she and Raymond went on to build other businesses, with him doing the dealing and her keeping a firm hand on the financial end. She was very active in the business until she retired at the age of 85. The most joy that was in Lillian's life was her church and children. Funeral services will be on Thursday, September 6, 2012, at 11:30 a.m. at Maine Federated Church, 2615 Main Street, Route 26, Maine, officiated by Rev. Steven D. Johnson. Burial will follow in Maine Cemetery. Calling hours for friends and family will be at the church on Thursday from 10:30 a.m. until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Lillian's memory to Maine Federated Church, 2615 Main Street, Maine, NY 13802 or to the Alzheimer's Association, 441 West Kirkpatrick Street, Syracuse, NY 13204.
