Obituary of Mildred Gregory
Mildred Gregory It is with great sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of Mildred Gregory early September 24, 2012. Though just shy of 104, the Susquehanna Nursing Home resident was loved by those who supported her over the years. Mildred was born in Avon NY in 1908. She married Leon, had six children, and resided in Endwell. Mildred was employed by Endicott Johnson. She also worked at the former IBM Homestead, often reminding us she never wanted to "clean another chicken!" Mildred also cleaned houses for several families, was most notable for the ironing services she provided to countless individuals and organizations throughout the area. Over the years Mildred was a member of several women's bowling leagues, frequented countless regional tournaments, and won numerous trophies she proudly displayed on her living room wall. She enjoyed playing Bingo with friends, traveling when she could, and her special Sundays with Gracie and Emma. Mildred was a provider, taking care of her elderly mother in her final years, her son Richard during his fight with diabetes and muscular disorder, her daughter Betty during her battle with Muscular Dystrophy. Through it all she had time for her grandchildren, friends, and family. She will be greatly missed by all that knew her. It was said at her 103rd birthday party "They don't make em that tough anymore"! Special thanks to longtime physician and friend Dr. Victor Elinoff, also the wonderful staff at the Susquehanna Nursing Facility.each of you a rock of stability that provided her with health and happiness during her stay. Mildred is predeceased by husband Leon, daughters Barbara, Betty, Hazel, Edith, son Richard, Grandson Randy. She is survived by her son Ralph & wife Sally, niece Bell Schrader, nephews Earl & Harry Lewis, granddaughters Vicki & Michael Holleran, Sheila & Steve Hauther, Joyce & Doug Denzer, grandsons John & Jennifer Gregory, Robert Hollopeter, Rodger & Carol Gregory, Ted & Tanya Gregory, Mark Kinch, great grandchildren Ryan, Courtney, Stephen, Amanda, Gracie and Emma, Ashley, Stacey, Erich, Josef, Jacqueline, Lynn, Amy & Tim.
