Obituary of Janet Wooster
Janet E. Wooster of Endicott Janet Wooster, 83, of Endicott, went peacefully to be with the Lord Jesus Saturday, January 3, 2009, at Lourdes Hospital. She was predeceased by her beloved mother, Evelyn; and father, Raymond Wooster; her aunt, Marian Wooster; and her uncle, Leonard Harvey. She is survived by her good friends, Jim and Carol Lavo, Joe and Reggie Yurko, and Joan Meehan, who are grateful and want to thank everyone who helped Janet during her life. Janet was a devout Roman Catholic all her life. She went to St. Mary's and St. Paul's parochial schools when growing up in Binghamton. Janet was a nurse's aide for 15 years at Ideal Nursing Home, she received a beautician license from Binghamton Beauty School, and she worked in different department stores, McDonald's as a hostess, during her working years. Janet enjoyed going to church and attending mass, saying the rosary, and talking and being with her friends. Janet was a member at St. Ambrose Parish in Endicott. She spent the last few years of her life at Willow Point Nursing Home in Vestal, where the staff, especially Brenda Matias, and counselor, Mr. Cole, were very caring. Thank you to Lourdes Hospital ICU Unit, Ingrid and the Hospital Minister, and Priest for being very caring and supportive during Janet's final hours. Janet was a very interesting, humorous, special, independently strong, faith-filled woman who will always be remembered and greatly missed. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the charity of your choice. A funeral mass will be offered 10:30 a.m., Thursday at St. Ambrose Church, Endicott. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Johnson City. An hour of calling from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m., Thursday will be held at the church.
