Obituary of Alexis F Stanley

Alexis Fay Stanley Vestal: Alexis Fay Stanley, 24, of Vestal, NY, passed away on November 1, 2012. She was born to Shelley Lewis-Stanley and Douglas Stanley on November 8, 1987 in Binghamton, NY. She graduated from Vestal Senior High School and Rochester Institute of Technology where she received a Bachelor's Degree in Applied Arts & Sciences with a Minor in Psychology. She then went on to Boulder School of Massage Therapy for a certificate in Massage Therapy. She is survived by her parents; brother, Darren Stanley; and sister, Jessica Stanley. Alexis touched all those she met with her beautiful, kind and healing soul. Her free spirit led her on many adventures from the Finger Lakes of New York, to the mountains of Yellowstone, all the way to the Red Woods of California. An avid nature photographer, she captured nature's delicate details in stunning photographs which will live on forever as a reminder of her unique view of the world around us. Alexis was never idle and loved hiking, rock climbing, swimming, tennis and running. She was a member of the Vestal High School, Towson University and Rochester Institute of Technology tennis teams. Her achievements were numerous, including the completion of the Lake Placid Marathon and many other community races. She loved animals and her desire to help others led her to a career in massage therapy. There is no way to capture all of who Alexis was in the boundaries of black and white print. Those who knew her were touched by all that she was and will carry her in their hearts forever. The family will receive friends at Coleman & Daniels Funeral Home, 765 Main Street, Vestal from 10-11 a.m. on Saturday, November 10, immediately followed by a memorial service at Vestal Hills Memorial Park, 3997 Vestal Rd, Vestal at 11:30. Family and friends are then invited to celebrate Alexis' life at the Waterman Conservation Center, 403 Hilton Road, Apalachin from 12 - 2:30 p.m. Flowers may be sent to Coleman & Daniels Funeral Home in Vestal.
