Obituary of Jean M. Clarhaut

Jean M. Clarhaut Endicott: Jean Marie (Wilkins-Dixson) Clarhaut died Friday, November 30, 2012, at Absolut Care, Endicott, after a long battle with Alzheimer's Disease. Jean was born June 27, 1931 in Endicott, where she lived most of her life except for about 10 years in Lady Lake, FL. Jean was a hairdresser for many years and a former manager of the Triple Cities School of Beauty. She was predeceased by her husband, George Clarhaut, in 2004; also an infant son, Robert Dixson Jr.; her parents, Wayne and Frances (Smith) Wilkins; sister, Ruth Clark; and brothers, Stuart, Richard, Donald and Ronald. She is survived by a daughter, Sheila (Joe) Valentino, Johnson City; a son, Joe (Jill) Clarhaut; and a stepdaughter, Sheila (Bob) Hughes; grandchildren, Jay (Tracy) Allen, Lisa (Rick) Antalek, Adam Clarhaut and Madison Clarhaut; great-grandchildren, Josh Allen, Lacey Chandanais and Micah Allan; and two great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Pauline Cummings, Endicott, Margaret Potter, NC, Barbara (Donald) Stone, Ararat, PA, Shirley Strong, FL, and Dorothy (Floyd) Brandt, FL; sister-in-law, Helen Dougherty, Philadelphia; and brother-in-law, Russell Clark, Unadilla; also many nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank the staff at Absolut for their care and patience with Jean, especially Carla Feringa, who was at Absolut during Jean's entire stay there. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 4-6 p.m. at Coleman & Daniels Funeral Home, 300 E. Main St., Endicott. A Memorial Service will follow at 6 p.m. at the Funeral Home. Entombment will be in Riverhurst Cemetery, Endwell, at the convenience of the family.
