Obituary of William E. Truex
William E. Truex of Horseheads formerly of Binghamton William E. Truex, 69, of Horseheads, and formerly of Binghamton, passed away unexpectedly on January 6, 2009 at Arnot Ogden Medical Center, Elmira. He was predeceased by his parents, Earl and Elizabeth Truex; and his wife, Donna. He is survived by two daughters, Carrie Truex, Wrightsville, Pa., and Vicki and Paul Bange, Binghamton; three grandsons, Alexander, Simon and William; four brothers, Steve and Marlene Truex, Syracuse, Gordon and Diane Truex, Binghamton, and Randy and Karen Truex, Binghamton; and a special friend, Mary Poteat, Horseheads; several nieces and nephews. He was a member of High Street United Methodist Church, Binghamton; served in the National Guard; and retired after 35 years from Martin Marietta, Johnson City. He was also a crossing guard for the Horseheads School District. William was a wonderful father and was a very compassionate and generous person. Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 1 p.m. from the High Street United Methodist Church, 1288 Vestal Ave., Binghamton, with the Rev. Ann S. Blair officiating. Burial will be in Riverhurst Cemetery, Endwell. The family will receive their friends on Friday evening from 7 - 9 at the Coleman & Daniels Funeral Home, 300 E. Main St., Endicott.
