Obituary of Norma Weiss

Norma Graves Scheben Weiss Norma Graves Scheben Weiss, born December 31, 1923 in Willing Township, Allegheny County, NY, passed away peacefully on January 22, 2013. She is predeceased by her parents, Eugene and Carrie Graves; brothers, Roscoe and Sherman Graves; husbands, Ferdinand Scheben and Howard Weiss. She is survived by her five children, Karen Flores of Phoenix, AZ, William Scheben (Linda) of Afton, NY, Fredric Scheben (Faith) of Orlando, FL, Philip Scheben (Laurie) of The Villages, FL, and Barry Scheben (Pushpa) of Phoenix, AZ; grandchildren, K. Tamara Flores of Sebastopol, CA, Rogelio A. Flores of Los Angeles, CA, and Ingemar Flores (Olya) of Gaithersburg, MD, William Scheben of Conklin, NY, and Michael, Daniel, and Christopher Scheben, all of Binghamton, NY; great-grandchildren, Theo Torbert-Flores of Sebastopol, CA, Angelina Scheben and William Scheben III of Binghamton, NY, and Elijah and Nathan Flores of Gaithersburg, MD. She is also survived by a sister, Jane Hessney of Binghamton, NY; and brothers, Calvin Graves (Barbara) of Wellsville, NY, Richard Graves (Marian) of South Daytona Beach, FL; and sister-in-law, Betty Lou Graves of Reading, PA; and many nieces and nephews. She graduated from Wellsville, NY High School in 1941 and was employed for 20 years in NYS Civil Service (Binghamton Psychiatric Center and NYS Department of Transportation), and also performed stenographic work for the Town of Kirkwood, NY for a number of years. She was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Endicott, NY, and also a member of St. Joseph's Altar and Rosary Society; and member of the CSEA, RPEA and the American Legion Auxiliary in Florida. A Funeral Mass will be offered Friday at 11:00 a.m. at St. Joseph's Church, 207 Hayes Ave., Endicott. Burial will be in Spring Forest Cemetery, Binghamton. The family will receive friends at the church Friday morning from 9:00 a.m. until service time at 11:00. Arrangements are by the Coleman & Daniels Funeral Home, Inc., Endicott.
