Obituary of Nina C Mogavero

Nina C. Mogavero Nina C. Mogavero, 87, of Endwell, died in her home on April 7, 2013, after a brief illness. Nina is survived by her niece, Patricia Merry; her great nephews, Michael Merry and his wife, Colleen, Paul Merry and his wife, Maggie; and her great niece, Katherine Merry. Nina is also survived by her wonderful friend, Barbara Middleton and her loyal dog, Bear. Nina is predeceased by her husband, Vincent Mogavero; her parents, Mildred Chaffee and Roger Chaffee; her sister, Barbara Merry and her brother-in-law, James Merry. Nina is also predeceased by her nephew, Dr. James R. Merry and his wife, Kristine. Nina was born in Endicott, NY. She was a graduate of Union-Endicott High School and of the Rochester Business lnstitute in Rochester, NY. After graduation in1943, she worked for the War Department, Army Air Forces Division until the end of World War ll. After traveling throughout the United States with her mother, Nina finally found her niche and became an insurance agency office manager and controller. She worked for The Ditzel Agency in Batavia, NY for ten years before relocating to Broome County. She then went to work for The Savitch Agency in Binghamton, NY, where she remained until her retirement in 1991. Nina loved sailing her boat, The Ninvin, on Cayuga Lake with her husband, searching for elusive titles in used bookstores and finding hidden bargains every where she went. Her family would like to thank the loving care given to Nina by Barbara Middleton, Rebecca Zane, Paula Brown and Linda Fleming. The family would also like to thank Lourdes Hospice for their wonderful care and efforts to make Nina's last days as peaceful as possible. ln keeping with Nina's wishes, there will be no calling hours. A private Memorial Service will be held at the family's convenience. Funeral arrangements are by Coleman & Daniels Funeral Home, Inc, 300 East Main Street, Endicott, N.Y.
