Obituary of Rose M. Brown

ROSE MARIE (MURPHY) BROWN Rose passed away in Sanford, FL on May 7, 2013 following a brief illness. Rose was born in Endicott on April 5, 1929 to Lt. Joseph and Marie Murphy. She graduated from Union-Endicott High School in 1947. On January 7, 1948 Rose married Herbie, the love of her life. After raising her family, Rose went to work for IBM retiring in 1986. Although Rose lived in Florida for almost 40 years she never truly left Endicott. Rose was predeceased by her parents, sister Marilyn Pratt, brother Robert Murphy, and daughter-in-law Nadine Brown. She is survived by her husband of 65 years Herbert; children, Ruth Ann Brown (Sea Isle City, NJ), William (Judy) Brown (Lehigh Acres, FL), Thomas Brown (Tequesta, FL), Barbara (Gary) Swiatlowski (Delray Beach, FL), and Nancy Brown (Endicott). Rose is also survived by her sister Isabell Hashem, eight grandchildren, two great grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins as well as her four legged best friend Miss Kitty. Rose's family will receive friends on Thursday, May 16 from 4PM to 7PM and Friday May 17 from 9AM to 9:30AM at the Coleman and Daniels Funeral Home, 300 E. Main Street, Endicott. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10AM Friday, May 17 at St. Ambrose Church, Endicott. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
