Obituary of Wayne J Price

Wayne J. Price Wayne J. Price, 86, of Ocala, FL, formerly of Vestal, went home to be with his Lord, Sunday May 5, 2013. Open visitation with the family will be 11AM, Thursday May 23, 2013 at Coleman and Daniels in Endicott with Funeral Services to follow at 12PM. Wayne Jack Price, son of Samuel and Louise (Lewis) Price, was born June 10, 1926, in Sayre, PA. In 1942, he enlisted in the US Navy and served in World War II in the Pacific Fleet until 1946. On January 1, 1947, Wayne married Elma Molyneaux. They were happily married for 54 years. Together they had six daughters and two sons. Wayne dedicated many hours to the building of Ross Corners Baptist Church and Ross Corners Christian Academy. He served as a deacon, taught Sunday school, as well as many other functions. For 27 years, Wayne was in maintenance at IBM in Owego until he retired in 1977. After retirement, he and Elma served helping to build churches in Maranatha Village, as well as many other sites in Florida. He also enjoyed raising cattle on their farm, hunting, fishing, and vacationing with family. Family vacations were a big part of Wayne's summers visiting many states and Canada. He also enjoyed the time shared with his parents, brothers, sister and their families. He loved visiting with his grandchildren, a leisurely drive, and shopping. Wayne also loved to support the Shepherds Ministries in Union Grove, WI for adults with developmental disabilities. Wayne is survived by his daughters, Judy (Dave) Gittens of Harrisonburg, VA; Mary (Randy) Morgan of Lansing, MI; Leah (Gary) Mix of Ocala, FL; Pam Price of Savannah, GA; Linda Benninger of Endicott, NY; sons, Philip Price of Creston, IA; and Paul (Tammy) Price of Roulette, PA. He had 20 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews. He was also survived by his brothers, Adrian (Georgianna) Price of Vestal, NY; John (Liz) Price of Greene, NY; sister, Carol Purdy Tower of Rutledge, TN; sister-in-law, Sandra Price of Vestal, NY. Preceding Wayne in death were his father Samuel, mother Louise, wife Elma, brother Samuel, daughter Margaret, granddaughter Mildred Gittens, and daughter-in-law Diana Price.
