Obituary of Truman Litwhiler

S. Truman Litwhiler Of Vestal S. Truman Litwhiler, 74, of Vestal, passed away Wednesday, December 12, 2007, at Binghamton General Hospital after a period of declining health. He was predeceased by his parents, Sterling and Myrtle Litwhiler, Mahanoy City, PA; and a grandson, Jeremy Buchanan. He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Thurley; two sons, Stephen Litwhiler, Watertown, NY; Karl Litwhiler, Vestal; two daughters and sons-in-law, Robin and Vince Mauro, Vestal, Tammy and Dan Buchanan, Vestal; seven grandchildren, Michael, Austin, Danielle, Kara, Jason, Kyle and Conner, a sister and brother-in-law, Bette and George Richards, NC; also many nieces, nephews, friends and other family members who loved Truman dearly. Truman taught art in the Johnson City School System for 33 years. He was an accomplished musician, playing trumpet with the Penn-Can Dixieland Jazz Band. He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying fishing and hunting. Truman and Thurley enjoyed spending summers at their summer home in Watervillage, NH. Truman touched everyone with his sense of humor and gentle spirit. A Funeral Service for Truman will be held 1:00 P.M., Saturday, December 15, 2007, at the Coleman & Daniels Funeral Home, Inc., 765 Main St., Vestal. The Rev. David M. Murphy, Pastor of the Valley View Alliance Church of Vestal, will officiate. Burial will be at the familys convenience. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until service time at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, those wishing may make contributions in Trumans memory to the U.H.S.
