Obituary of Richard J Masters
Richard (Dick) Masters passed away peacefully on Sunday October 30th, surrounded by his loving family. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He is predeceased by Sally, his adoring wife of 60 years; his parents, Joseph and Esther; and his brother Gene. He is survived by his six children: Susie, Joe (Jennifer Williams), Peggy, Marie (Chris Bailey), Trish (Gary O'Neill), Rick ( Daniela Tiberia); his sisters, Janet Gushue and Linda Northrop; and his grandchildren, Sam, Julia, Annie, Dan, Jack, Ryan, Sarah, Grace, Sabrina, Margot, Alexa, Pete, Mac, Ellen, and Jared.
Dick was born and raised in Tonawanda, NY and graduated from the University of Buffalo. Following his service in the United States Army, he spent his entire professional career as an engineer at IBM in Owego, NY. Dick was a devoted Catholic and a long time member of both Our Lady of Sorrows and Our Lady of Good Counsels. He dedicated countless hours serving the community as a part of the Apalachin Lions Club, where he was a member for over 60 years.
His greatest joys in life were spending time with his beloved family and spreading laughter wherever he went. He was the life of every party and enjoyed sharing a drink and a song with everyone he encountered.
