Obituary of Bertha J. Pecen

Bertha Jane Pecen, 91, of Endicott, NY was reunited in heaven with her loving husband, John, on Sunday, November 6, 2022 after a long battle with dementia. She was born on January 25, 1931 to Katarina and Anthony Tresek, Sr. She was predeceased by 7 sisters, Julia Hand, Mary Svarney, Stella Hull, Valeria Stasko, Margaret Keyes, Annie Fitch and infant sister, Josephine Tresek; 4 brothers, Anthony, William, John and infant brother Joseph Tresek; and son-in-law, Robert J. White. Bertha leaves behind daughter, Betty Jane White; sons, John P. Pecen (Janice), Steven Pecen and Paul Pecen; grandchildren, Michael White (Leigh), Vanessa Rainey (Tim), Andreana May (Patrick), Turner Pecen (Michelle), Stacey Cramer (Brad), Sarah Pecen, and Kali Myers (Jon); eight great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. After successfully raising her family, Bertha enjoyed serving and chatting it up with her many customers at Dunkin Donuts, Endicott before securing a food service position with Lourdes Hospital, which she held for 12 years prior to her retirement. Bertha will be most remembered for her love of baking and often spent her spare time fulfilling numerous kolachki orders for friends, relatives, neighbors and coworkers. The family would like to extend special thanks to the nurses, aides and caregivers of the Ideal Senior Living Center, Daisy Court, for their many years of compassionate care. There will be no calling hours. A private graveside service and celebration of life will be held at the convenience of the family.
