Obituary of Donald R Franco

Donald R. Franco Formerly of Horseheads: Donald R. Franco, 71, passed away peacefully Monday evening April 15, 2013 at the Ideal Senior Living Center. He was predeceased by his parents, Albert H and Emogene Franco; grandsons, Devon and Kabe Workman; granddaughter Isabelle Workman. He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Jean Franco; his children, Shelley and Bobby Workman of Costa Rica, Stephanie and Kevin Williams of Binghamton, Steven and Mandy Franco of Denver, NC; his seven angels, Madeline and Priscilla Williams, Olivia and Payton Franco, Leyla, AJ, and River Workman; special cousin, Donnie Niedergall; two aunts, Anna Marie Franco and Reva Roberts; also several cousins. He was a member of Elks Lodge B.P.O.E. #2297 Horseheads. He was a guidance counselor with 37 years of service with the Horseheads Central School District, former teacher with Corning/Painted Post School District, and the Elmira School District. Donald was a avid golfer and enjoyed sports, he especially loved supporting his children at their sporting events; he was their #1 fan. He loved to spend time with his family, and enjoyed his special vacations. He will be missed by his family and friends. The family wishes to thank the Ideal Senior Living Center Daisey Court for their loving care of Donald. Funeral Services will be held Friday at 1:30PM from the Coleman and Daniels Funeral Home Inc., 300 East Main St, Endicott. The Rev. James Walck Pastor of Our Saviour Lutheran Church, Endwell will officiate. Burial will be in Riverhurst Cemetery, Endwell. The family will receive friends at the Funeral Home Friday from 11:30AM until service time at 1:30PM. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in his memory to the Alzheimers Assn. of CNY 401 Hayes Ave, Endicott, NY 13760, or to Our Saviour Lutheran Church 731 Hooper Rd, Endwell, NY 13760.
